What we collect
We do not run accounts, newsletters or advertising trackers. The message tool on our Message page works entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent to us unless you choose to email it.
If you email us, we receive your email address, name if given, and the content of your message. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time) for security and to keep the site running.
Why we use it
We use emails only to reply to you, on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering readers. Server logs are used for security and fault-finding, also under legitimate interest.
How long we keep it
Emails are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted. Server logs are typically kept for no more than 30 days.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who host the site and our email, under contracts that protect it, or where the law requires.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, object to processing, or ask us to restrict it. Email us to make a request. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
